The Dawn isn't Breaking

Okay, I keep threatening to open the book. But last night I had a chance to help some friends out with a technology issue, and by the time I got home and herded everyone else into bed, and cleaned up after the day's labors, I had run out of matchsticks to prop my eyelids open another moment.

Why am I so wiped out these days? It's really strange. I'm such a night owl generally. Maybe it's Divine Intervention aiding me in my quest to become a morning person by wafting sleeping potion over me after 10 pm. Whereas normally things are just ramping up for me once everyone's asleep, these days I'm just capooted out. Which would be fine if I had more energy during the day. I'm guessing it's all the running. I just need more sleep to recuperate. Or sugar.

Anyway, that's not what's on my mind today. What IS on my mind is How Come Everything Comes Due In September? This is a sincere question, because in the next couple weeks we will have to fork over heaping wads of cash for:
  • Medical School Tuition [gulp]
  • Car insurance
  • Motor Vehicle Inspection and Emissions fees
  • Motor Vehicle Registration fees
  • Home insurance
  • Braces for Bunch
  • Tune up for my car...it's got multiple issues that need fixing right now
  • More See's Chocolates. Cause I don't think I'll be able to face the former list without a daily dose of the stuff. We need Our Moments!
I'm grateful for the fact that we have insurance. I can't put a price tag on the peace of mind it gives to know that if anything happened to us, or, heaven forbid we were the cause of any tragedy happening to someone else, we have insurance that will lessen the financial stress of the situation at least. And I'm grateful our old cars are still humming. We hope they last another 5 or more years. Without needing monthly work to keep them going. And I'm grateful we are getting Bunch's teeth straightened...it's a luxury I know, but one that matters a lot in her case (her bite was so messed...she couldn't actually use her front teeth to bite things). Gator also needs braces, but he needs speech pathologist help too, to correct a habit of thrusting his tongue against his teeth. If he doesn't fix that, braces will be futile. I'm procrastinating this because it's all like a fire hose coming at us this month.

And my brother just called cause he's been stealthily and sneakily moving away from us this past weekend without telling me that's what he's been up to. But now he needs some help to complete his exodus to the neighboring town. So here I go, to aid him in deserting me. Maybe that'll wake me up...

Oh my, that is a lot due in one month! Bunch will be forever grateful that you padi for braces-- I know Erik STILL wishs he'd had them.

But the school will pay for a speech pathologist. Just call the principal.

We missed you this morning at scripture group!

i am so excited to try that funnel cake recipe! i might just whip it out next week (B is asking we eat healthy for a few days after our fair trip).

i love how you respond to your own post with, you aren't pregnant. :) i bet it's the early AM runs that are getting you. wait until your body gets used to them...you'll probably feel quite a bit better!

I know exactly how you feel. We're trying to get Rae in braces but her darn baby teeth won't fall out. I hope you start feeling more energized. :)

With everything you have going on, it's no wonder your are exhausted! I am glad that you are allowing yourself to fall asleep instead of fighting it. Please honor your bodies need for rest. Part of the reason I became ill with the Fibromyalgia is because I was running myself ragged. Now I have all of the time in the world to rest because I don't have the energy to do very much else.

I hope that your energy level improves very soon! I just finished Breaking Dawn about a week ago. It was definitely entertaining!

Hugs,
Deb
