As they mature, we're enjoying watching movies from the past 25 years or so with Bunch and Gator. Shows that came out before they were born, or that they were too young to enjoy when we first saw them.
I've been asked if I could share our list, so I decided to put it on here and solicit additions. Are there any we've forgotten that you think we should consider? (Note: some shows might not be listed because they've seen them already, eg: Star Wars, Pirates OTC, Harry Potter, LOTR, etc, but feel free to suggest any favorites we might have overlooked.) Our library has most movies in their system, and we have been taking advantage of their free week-long rentals.
Apollo 13
Forest Gump
What Dreams May Come
Sleepless in Seattle
While You Were Sleeping
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Truman Show
Edward Scissorhands

We love October Sky, The Three Amigos, Roxanne, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Les Miserables, Newsies, the Indiana Jones series, the Wizard of Oz, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dead Poets Society, The Fugitive, Life is Beautiful, the Pursuit of Happyness, Bugsy Malone, and the tv series Monk. I know you can watch Monk on Netflix streaming - all 8 seasons. I don't know if the library would have a tv series though. Also, I have no idea where you could find them, but do you remember PBS creating the "Fairy Tale Theater" series? Cinderella was one of our family's favorites of all time! It would be so worth it if you could get your hands on it!
Apparently, I don't have your email. I was going to email you this link: http://www.imdb.com/video/hulu/vi364839961/ -- it looks like all the Fairy Tale Theater's are available on Hulu. Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Emperor's New Clothes were also good.
Here's another link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0199214/episodes
Email me at bohnchick@hotmail.com so I can have your email. I'm surprised I don't already have it! :)
I suppose they have seen all the Indiana Jones movies ... starship troopers - but they should be older ... it's really a great political satire ... well I think so :) it's graphic in spots ... hugs le xox
I am very cautious about the movies I let my children watch, so there have been many times that we have watched a movie from my little-kid past and we have had to turn it off because we didn't feel right about the content.
So with cautiousness here are some of the movies we have watched and have enjoyed with our childrenc:
1. Ladyhawke
2. Saints and Soliders (violent, I know, but SUCH a great message!)
3. Stand and Deliver (language, but also has an INCREDIBLE message)
4. Radio
5. Remember the Titans
