So who do I look most like?

There is an entertaining site that you can upload a photo to, and it will scan your face and tell you who your celebrity look-alikes are. I previously tried it with a whole bunch of photos...but decided that it was overkill, so I deleted them and decided to just keep this one. A diverting waste of time ♥

Remember When It Rained

I finally managed to get the last song off my camera...it somehow got corrupted and wouldn't download to my computer, but I could watch the video on the camera itself. So whilst at my sister's house, on a whim I tried to download it to her computer, and it worked! Yay! So, here you go Groban fans! Remember When It Rained, performed live in concert.

A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do...

...so i need to go visit my darling sister, who happens to live on a highly popular tropical island chain in the middle of the pacific ocean. She is about to become a momma again.

Tomorrow, a wonderful young woman on a different, yet equally beautiful island nearby, will be induced and give birth to a baby boy (at least we've been told it's a boy). Then she will do one of the most compassionate things any woman could ever do in this mortal life: and give that baby to my sister's family to keep forever and ever. Whenever there's a family who desperately wants to have children, but for any number of reasons can't, it is women like this one who are literally saviors in their lives, providing something they can't do for themselves.

Naturally, my sweet sister would love it if I could be there for this event. I was there almost 5 years ago when they became parents. Now the happy trio and I will fly over and then the 5 of us will take this perfect little boy home with us.

So I've got to dash to the airport and jumpseat my way there. I'll be off till next week, but maybe I'll be able to update remotely. I'm amazed this is happening...she's waited SO long! ♥

kid art

I took my favorite capris with me for our annual Bear Lake weekend with the family. We had a great weekend with everyone. It wasn't till I got home and unpacked that I noticed that some young artist had decided my capris would make a splendid canvas for their work. Carbona STAIN DEVILS #3 to the rescue! I hope!!!

Remember when it rained...

Yesterday an unexpected storm came through during late afternoon. For some reason I love rain here. In the past it's been a necessary albeit inconvenient event, but since moving here, I welcome it and don't mind being splattered.

After the rain, an unreal double-rainbow hung over our mountain.
This gift was followed by a breath-taking fiery sunset.

Movie clips # 2 & 3

This took a fraction of the time it took me to get the first one done.
I've been learning to use MovieMaker, which happened to already be on my computer unbeknownst to me. Thanks Windoz! (snark)

I'm still getting familiar with my new camera and all its cool features. I didn't know how to tell how much memory I had left, so I'd start filming, then worry that I'd run out and quit. It was akin to playing musical chairs.

I realize these first movies are like watching someone learn to drive stick-shift, MADDENING!! But anyway, I'm getting the hang of it. At least these clips bring back happy memories for me...which is really the only reason I took them. Sorry to disappoint any of Grobanites ♥

My First Movie!!!

It has taken hours to get to this point, but I finally created my first movie. So I now present, Josh in Concert

KIMBER!

Today is a very special person's birthday, so here is my tribute to one of my very closest friends and favorite people in the world, my little* sister Kimber.

Kimber is one of those rare individuals with no agenda, no deceitful motives, no pretensions and no guile. She is one of the hardest workers I know, faces challenges with determination and fortitude, isn't afraid to stand up for herself, isn't willing to be a doormat, and who is highly capable in many different realms.

Kimber has endured trials that would put most of us in life-long therapy, but conducts her life without self-pity or victimization. She has what it takes to get the job done, whether at work, church, social activities, family life, meeting expectations and agreements, and especially serving. And she does it all without being a martyr. She has opened her home over and over to anyone in need of a welcoming face, an example to all who struggle to fit people we could help into our busy lives because it's not very "convenient". She's supportive of all those around her, never makes you feel like she doesn't have time for you in her life, and always seems happy to hear your voice. Unless you're Roger ;-)

She's a phenomenal mom to the most adorable little niece an auntie could ask for, and next week will be bringing home her newborn son. I'm so happy for her...they've waited a long time to finally get this baby boy. He's one lucky kiddo, and will experience the kind of loving family that is commonly wanting in the world today.

Below is a sample of snippet of Kimber Moments, a little sisterly-tribute in honor of her life.

*there was a time, before she hit puberty, when I
was actually her "bigger sister"...but she quickly showed me who was boss, reaching greater heights than I have ever achieved. I've tried my best to take it like a pro...being the shortest one of the bunch.

Kimber & Blue--sharing one of the happiest days of her life together.

At a mini baby shower with our other unofficially official sisters and their families.

Momma & daughter, a few years later.

One of our favorite past-times is traveling together. We've gone been quite a few places together. Why let six time-zones keep us apart?!!?

Ben&Jerry's factory and skiing together in Vermont--for Kimber, 65degrees is freezing. I don't know how she made it through our visit that winter!

This world is so beautiful...made all the more so by seeing it with Kimber.
Southern-most point in the USA...on the Big Island of Hawaii

Breath-taking!

Central Park, New York City

Kimber has excellent taste in frozen treats!

Kimber is a sport. She's always been a committed athlete.

Kimber knows how to have fun!

And she'll rescue you from utter destruction by flesh-eating school houses when in need!

Kimber is a beautiful person, inside and out.

(She's H.O.T.T. with two t's!)

A little bit zany...

Always loving (in that special kind of way). Kind of like Tutti Hegabindi (don't ask!)

Kimber is a wonderful example, sister and friend.

You Are All Kinds of Amazing, Girl!!

Happy Happy Happy Birthday! I can't wait to see you next week!
Love you so much!

Ever need one of these?
